about

Originally recorded on cassette very early in 1982 at the flat of Paul Moller, hence the furniture percussion. This is the earliest existing recording of What Katy Did Next and the only recording of the original duo of Mark Fell and Paul Moller that still exists. Formed in late 1979 in Hull with a love of experimental Rock, Jazz and Blues this tape celebrates the original improvisatory ethic of the group. It features Mark Fell playing an acoustic guitar throughout in imitation of a jazz bass often using the violin bow on it..
